Signed Numbered Edition. Comprised Of Two Books, Both Laid In A Matching Tray Case, This Collectible Is Limited To Only 300 Copies Worldwide. This Is #86.
This 32 pound, 448-page 11" x 15" art book features over 500 illustrations (color and black & white), including 30 double-page foldouts, that has directly or indirectly illustrated the writings of Stephen King. The work has been culled from the last thirty-five years, and includes most all of the trade hardcover and mass market paperback editions, and virtually all of the artwork featured in the limited editions that have been published.
From Carrie to Just After Sunset, this definitive collection of art spans King's entire career, with newly commissioned artwork and reprinted art, most from publications long out-of-print that command premium prices. Most of the art has been reproduced from either originals or first-generation transparencies, so most of the work is displayed with a brilliance that has never been seen. Plus, there are several pages of fold-out views, including several by Michael Whelan, Ned Dameron, John Jude Palencar, Stephen Gervais, and others.
Introduction by Frank Darabont and text by King critic George Beahm, this edition looks back at 34 years of King in print. It provides a detailed look at the writer and his life, supplemented with interviews with Michael Whelan, Bernie Wrightson, Drew Struzan, John Cayea, Dave Christiansen, and many others.
This edition is signed by over 33 artists, including Michael Whelan, Bernie Wrightson, Mark Ryden, Dave McKean, Rick Berry, and many more. The large illustrated tray case holds the art book, and a second portfolio of 22 giant-size (17" × 22") prints.
